Luis Figueroa brings modern feeling to Salsa with “El Relevo”

Latin Grammy-nominated salsa singer LUIS FIGUEROA returns with El Relevo, a new album that reaffirms his artistic identity through the genre that first shaped him. Born in Philadelphia and deeply connected to his Puerto Rican roots, Figueroa began recording salsa at just nine years old. Across the album, he brings a contemporary sensibility to stories of love, heartbreak, vulnerability, and self reflection.

Co-written by Figueroa and produced alongside Efraín “Junito” Dávila, El Relevo moves with the confidence of an artist who is not trying to reinvent salsa from the outside, but expand it from within. Songs like “Hasta Que Te Miré,” “Búscame Aquí,” and “Fingir Está de Moda” with Pedro Capó reveal a project rooted in tradition, but shaped by modern storytelling and personal honesty.
